N.H. gets first conviction under federal crack house law
CONCORD, N.H.—A woman who ran a crack house in Nashua has become the first to be convicted in New Hampshire under a law criminalizing the use of a house or apartment to violate federal drug laws.
Linda Lopez, 40, pleaded guilty Tuesday and admitted that she had maintained an apartment for the purpose of distributing and using both crack cocaine and cocaine. She also pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute drugs and one count of distribution, the U.S. Attorney's office said in a press release Thursday.
Lopez will be sentenced Sept. 25 and faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.![]()
