AMHERST, N.H.—Several businesses were destroyed but there were no injuries in a four-alarm fire Thursday night at a strip mall in Amherst, New Hampshire.

The fire closed busy Route 101A in one direction as 10 fire companies fought the flames.

Businesses at the strip mall included the Amherst House of Pizza and a coffee shop. Thick smoke and strong winds complicated efforts to fight the fire, which was reported just before 7 p.m. Thursday.
