MANCHESTER, N.H.—A judge has refused to drop capital murder charges against the man accused of killing Manchester, New Hampshire, police officer Michael Briggs.
The charge remains after Michael Addison lost a challenge to the way New Hampshire selects jurors. His lawyers argued the jury selection process leaves minorities and youth underrepresented.
But Judge Kathleen McGuire ruled they did not prove their claim that the jury selection system violates his constitutional right to a jury chosen from a fair cross-section of the community. She said evidence from Addison and the state showed the process is random and fair.
