CONCORD, N.H.—New Hampshire health officials say they have identified a fourth case of Salmonella poisoning linked to the national contaminated tomato outbreak.
As with cases reported earlier, the new patient is a New Hampshire resident. It is unclear whether the patient was exposed in the state or elsewhere. Officials are unsure whether the patient was infected by tomatoes.
No one has been hospitalized and there have been no deaths in New Hampshire related to the outbreak. The New Hampshire patients join 923 people in 41 states and the District of Colombia who have gotten ill.
Since officials have not been able to discover the source of the contaminated tomatoes and people are still becoming ill, they are expanding their search to other include other items.
