NASHUA, N.H.—A Nashua, New Hampshire, woman suffered a broken hip and shut down her neighborhood after crashing into a house.
Police say 24-year-old Nicole Schaeffer hit and heavily damaged the house just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, a few doors away from her home.
Lt. Bruce Hansen said no one in the house was injured, but Schaeffer was treated for a fractured hip and other injuries. Some neighboring houses were evacuated because the crash damaged the home's gas supply.
Hansen said speed and the driver not being attentive appear to have caused the crash.
He said earlier media reports that the driver was found unconscious outside on the street were not accurate.
