CONCORD, N.H.—The National Weather Service is warning New Hampshire residents to watch for flash floods as thunderstorms continue to pelt the state.
The weather service issued a flash flood warning Sunday afternoon for central Grafton County due to heavy rain in the area. A flood watch also was issued for central and northern New Hampshire.
Small rivers and streams can rise quickly during heavy downpours. Authorities caution that most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Last week, a 7-year-old Rhode Island girl died in a flash flood in Ashland.![]()
