NASHUA, N.H.—A judge has ruled that a Nashua, New Hampshire, woman charged with second-degree murder in a fatal crash that followed an argument over the Yankees and Red Sox will remain jailed while awaiting trial.

Forty-three-year-old Ivonne Hernandez has been jailed since her arrest shortly after the May 2 confrontation in the parking lots behind City Hall that killed 29-year-old Matthew Beaudoin. She could face life in prison if convicted.

After hearing testimony from Detective Sgt. Jeff Maher, who outlined the evidence police have gathered, Hillsborough County Superior Court Judge Diane Nicolosi ruled that state law requires that Hernandez be held without bail on the murder charges.

Maher’s testimony offered details about the confrontation and investigation, including that Hernandez refused to perform field sobriety tests, but her blood alcohol level measured .16 percent twice the legal limit two hours after the crash.
