DURHAM, N.H.—New Hampshire Public Television says it is laying off five employees because the weak economy has hurt fundraising.
The network's president and chief executive -- Peter Frid -- announced the layoffs Wednesday as part of a major restructuring. He said the positions are in the production, technology and development departments. Frid said several other vacant positions won't be filled.
Frid said a cost-cutting campaign did not reduce expenses enough to avoid layoffs. He said the network -- based in Durham -- has seen a significant drop in fundraising from individuals, corporate underwriting and foundation grants.![]()
