TILTON, N.H.—Police are investigating a weekend break-in at a Tilton pawn shop in which the burglar appears to have disguised himself as a police officer.
Surveillance video showed the man driving into the parking lot at the Fast Cash Trading Center in an unmarked Ford Crown Victoria. He was dressed in black and wearing a black hat.
Detective Nathan Buffington tells WMUR-TV that the car and the clothing might have been used to avoid suspicion.
Police believe the burglar took about $15,000 in jewelry, and they are investigating whether there is a connection to a similar incident at a restaurant in Laconia.
