CONCORD, N.H.—New figures show revenue collections in New Hampshire for October were about $12 million short of the budget target for the month.
The report from the Department of Administrative Services shows the state collected $204 million in taxes and other revenue for October. The shortfall for the month leaves the state nearly $38 million short of the revenue target so far this year.
State Republican Party Chairman John H. Sununu says the numbers are evidence that Democrats are mismanaging the state's finances. But Democratic state Sen. Lou D'Allesandro, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, says New Hampshire is faring better than the surrounding states.
