CONCORD, N.H.—Legislative leaders from Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire are meeting Thursday with FairPoint Communications, regulators and others to discuss the telecommunications company's future.
FairPoint filed for bankruptcy protection from its creditors last month. Lawmakers hope to learn more about the implications of the bankruptcy filing for the three states' telephone and broadband networks.
Lawmakers also are exploring whether legislative action by the three states is needed to ensure FairPoint is reliable and will keep its promises to expand broadband services.
The meeting is from 1-4 p.m. in the Legislative Office Building in Concord.![]()
