AUGUSTA, Maine—Drivers are being urged to be prepared for Wednesday's snowstorm in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
The National Weather Service says the snowfall will become very heavy during the day with significant accumulations likely. Strong wind is also expected, including gusts of over 40 mph in all three northern New England states.
Maine State Police Chief Patrick Fleming says drivers should expect challenging conditions as they reacquaint themselves with winter weather.
The Maine Emergency Management Agency says the conditions could cause power outages. People using gas-powered generators, kerosene heaters and other heating or power sources during power outages should make sure those devices are outdoors in fresh air in order to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.![]()
