PORTSMOUTH, N.H.—New Hampshire Masonic lodges were opened up to the public to help lift the veil of mystery about the world's largest fraternal organization.

Hoping to show the public that they're not so secret, the Freemasons opened the doors of their lodges from Portsmouth to Colebrook on Saturday.

Movies have portrayed mystical conspiracy theories about Freemasons, but members dismiss them as they try to educate the public about the organization.

Robert Sutherland, the R.W. district deputy grand lecturer for the St. John's Masonic Association, says their biggest secret is that they don't have any secrets.
