HUDSON, N.H.—A local chamber of commerce in New Hampshire says it won't be renewing its membership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce because it doesn't agree with some its recent political ads.
The Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce says its board of directors has voted to not renew its membership because it feels the national chamber's support of certain parties and candidates is in "direct conflict" with the foundation of the Hudson chamber.
The U.S. Chamber has come under attack nationally by Democrats, who accuse it of funding campaigns with millions of dollars in undisclosed funds, some of them possibly from foreign sources.
The Nashua Telegraph says Hudson isn't the first New Hampshire chamber to separate from the national chamber because of political disagreement, with many local chambers breaking off years ago or never joining in the first place.
