CONCORD, N.H.—The 206th birthday of New Hampshire's Franklin Pierce is being remembered.
The nation's 14th president is being honored in Old North Cemetery in Concord. The New Hampshire Army National Guard and the Governor's Horse Guard will be on hand to lay a wreath at his grave site at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The New Hampshire Political Library and the Pierce Brigade invite the community to the public ceremony.
The wreath is sent annually from the White House and commemorates the president's date of birth and contributions serving in the country's highest office.
Following the wreath-laying, the public is invited to the Pierce Manse at Horseshoe Pond Lane for light refreshments.
Pierce was president from 1853 to 1857.![]()
