CONCORD, N.H.—Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour has canceled a planned trip to New Hampshire to deal with a budget battle at home.
Barbour, a Republican who is expected to make an announcement about a presidential bid soon, was scheduled to be in Iowa through Saturday and in New Hampshire on Sunday and Monday. Mississippi lawmakers face a Saturday deadline to file a budget compromise, and some Democrats have criticized Barbour's absence from the state.
Barbour had been scheduled to speak in Lebanon on Sunday night and make several stops in Manchester on Monday.![]()
