CONCORD, N.H.—With the wind literally at his back, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson has announced his presidential campaign in New Hampshire, saying he has the resume needed to lead the country.
Before serving as governor from 1995 through 2003, Johnson started a one-person fix-it business that grew to 1,000 employees. He says he can fix the nation by asking two simple questions: What are we spending our money on, and what are we getting in return?
Johnson made his announcement Thursday morning outside the Statehouse, where his staff had to hold onto the large sign positioned behind him to keep it from blowing away. He'll likely face worse weather Saturday when he skis Tuckerman Ravine on New Hampshire's Mount Washington, known for its deep snow and high wind.![]()
