DURHAM, N.H.—Nine members of a suspended University of New Hampshire fraternity were arrested on drug charges and two others cited for disorderly conduct following a raid at the Alpha Tau Omega house.
Police say Sunday morning's raid followed an investigation by the Durham and UNH police departments into illegal drug activity at the fraternity house. The fraternity had been issued a five-year suspension by the university last month.
During Sunday's raid, police observed what they believed to be numerous safety violations. The town code enforcement officer declared the house unsafe and uninhabitable and it was immediately closed.
Police say further arrests are expected.
