MANCHESTER, N.H.—Ron Paul is in first place in New Hampshire, according to the state's fifth and sixth graders.
More than 250 students participated in a mock election Thursday at Saint Anselm College's New Hampshire Institute of Politics.
Paul, a Texas congressman, won with 83 votes, followed by Michele Bachmann. Unlike a traditional primary, students were allowed to vote for Democrats as well, and President Barack Obama finished fifth, behind Herman Cain and Mitt Romney.
Students also learned about the first-in-the-nation primary from Secretary of State Bill Gardner and Gov. John Lynch.![]()
