CONCORD, N.H.—The federal government has posted close to 60 job openings so far for the long-awaited federal prison in Berlin, N.H.
Congress approved funding to open the prison last month. The Bureau of Prisons is expected to hire 329 people, including 201 local residents. More than half of the local hires will be correctional officers.
The jobs are being posted on usajobs.gov and in the New Hampshire Employment Security's Job Match System. As of Thursday, the federal website listed 42 jobs open to current federal employees and 15 jobs for others.
The applications will be reviewed in February or March.![]()
