Lambert not running for re-election to NH Senate
CONCORD, N.H.—Freshman Republican state Sen. Gary Lambert is not seeking re-election.
Lambert of Nashua announced Friday he won't run for a second term. He said the fact he is returning to active duty as a colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve played a major role in his decision. He won reinstatement to the Marine Corps after suing the government over being forced to retire along with 98 other colonels in 2009.
Lambert said he loves being a senator and said stepping aside is difficult.
Lambert is a member of the Health and Human Services, Energy and Natural Resources and Internal Affairs committees.
