NH House GOP redistricting plan up for vote
CONCORD, N.H.—House Republican leaders are bringing their plan to redraw House districts to the floor for a vote Wednesday.
The plan creates 200 new districts that include 86 single-town or ward districts with 184 seats.
Democrats are opposing the plan. They argue it is unconstitutional because many towns that deserve their own representative would not get one. They say there are 152 towns and wards that qualify for their own representative, but the GOP plan denies 59 of them the seats.
Districts are adjusted every 10 years after the census.
