SALEM, N.H.—A father and son face drug charges in New Hampshire after a postal inspector contacted police about suspicious-looking packages.
Police in Salem said the investigation started when the inspector told them about packages coming into the postal office in Methuen, Mass., since February. A drug-sniffing dog hit on a package intercepted Thursday. Police said the packages contained 3 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $30,000.
They arrested 50-year-old Raymond Speight of Salem on a conspiracy charge. His son, 22-year-old Raymond Speight Jr., was arrested on drug possession charges. Police said a search of their home turned up more marijuana, other drugs and numerous freight boxes.![]()
