LACONIA, N.H.—An annual winter count of bald eagles in New Hampshire's Lakes Region shows the bird population is holding steady.
The Citizen reports (http://bit.ly/H1a8QO) the late winter count conducted by the New Hampshire Audubon and Fish and Game Department agencies observed 55 birds.
The seven-year average of observers is 57 birds. That covers the period from 2005 to 2011.
