Driver dies in car accident in Pelham, NH

PELHAM, N.H.—Police in Pelham, N.H., say the driver of a car was killed after the vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree.
Police say the car was nearly ripped in half.
WMUR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/I4FYJ1) the accident happened on Bridge Street, also known as Route 38, early Thursday. It was reported by a passing motorist.
The driver was the only person inside the car and died at the scene. Police have not released the name.
Police said speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
