For 40 days and 40 nights

Governor Mitt Romney, like any good politician, knows how to get mileage out of his laugh lines. To wit: With flood waters rising in New England over the past two days, Romney has jokingly invoked the story of Noah's ark several times, most recently this morning on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"It seemed almost Biblical," Romney said. "We're sort of making jokes about Noah and taking two of each kind of animal because we haven't ever seen rain like this."

Of course, cynics might also see it as another attempt by Romney, a possible presidential contender in 2008, to remind Christian voters around the country that he's familiar with the Old Testament.
