Where their children go
Four of the five candidates for governor decided to send their children to private schools. Among their choices:
Democrat Deval Patrick
His oldest daughter, now in college, graduated from Milton Academy, where tuition is currently $27,100 for a day program and $34,525 for boarding students. His high school-age daughter attends a private school out of state.
Democrat Chris Gabrieli
Gabrieli sends four of his five children to private schools. (The other is in nursery school.) Among the schools:
Fessenden School in West Newton. Tuition ranges from $19,000 for kindergarten to $23,750 for ninth-graders in the day program and $32,150 for five-day boarding.
Roxbury Latin School in West Roxbury. Tuition is $16,800 for seventh- through 12th-grade day programs for boys.
Winsor School for girls in Boston. Tuition is $26,500.
Southfield School for girls in Brookline. Tuition ranges from $17,500 for kindergarten to $26,990 for grades 9 to 12.
Independent Christy Mihos
His children, now in college, attended Derby Academy in Hingham, where tuition ranges from $14,500 for kindergarten to $22,500 in the ninth grade. They graduated from St. Georges in Newport, R.I., where tuition is currently $34,500 for boarding students.
Republican Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey
Shore Country Day School in Beverly. Tuition ranges from $16,180 for kindergarten to $23,100 in the ninth grade.
