Multi-millionaire former New Hampshire Governor refuses to pay for portrait
Globe reporter Sarah Schweitzer reported over the weekend that former New Hampshire Governor Craig Benson is in a bit of an argument with a Granite State artist as to whether or not Benson commissioned a portrait of himself to be hung in the State House.
Artist Romas Brandt says the painting has been completed for some time and can be picked up upon payment of $12,500. Benson says he isn’t paying it and doesn’t want the picture.
In 2004, Benson became the first New Hampshire Governor in nearly 90 years not to win re-election to a second term.
