Former UN Ambassador Bolton to address NH GOP
John Bolton, the controversial former United Nations ambassador, will address gathering of New Hampshire Republicans at an event sponsored by the state party in a few weeks, the Globe has learned.
Bolton will be the keynote speaker Oct. 13 in Manchester at an event where New Hampshire Republicans will elect a new committeewoman to the Republican National Committee. The previous holder of that position resigned to work for John McCain's presidential campaign.
Bolton served as UN ambassador from August 2005 to December 2006. Because he made many controversial statements about the United Nations prior to his nomination to the post Senate Democrats refused to even vote on his confirmation. As a result President Bush made a recess appointment for Bolton thus taking the Senate out of the picture.
