Shaheen continues lead over Sununu
A respected poll released last night shows former Governor Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat, still holding a strong lead over Republican US Senator John E. Sununu in his re-election campaign next year.
The University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll gives Shaheen a 54 percent to 38 percent lead over Sununu, the same exact lead she had when the poll was conducted in July.
The same poll also shows freshman Democratic Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter in serious trouble as she faces re-election. While they did not do a head to head match-up against her two strong Republican challengers Shea-Porter only had a 33 percent favorability rating. Her net favorability rating is down nine points since July. New Hampshire's other freshman Democratic Congressman, Paul Hodes, only has a 35 percent favorability rating, but that number has grown since most of his district doesn't know him. Hodes also is not facing any challenger for re-election.
