New Hampshire Today, Nov. 6
It is Election Day in a handful of cities in New Hampshire today. Due to open seats new mayors will be in elected in Portsmouth, Nashua , Keene and Concord.
First term incumbents will be defending their seats in Dover and Manchester.
For watchers of presidential politics there isn't a whole lot to pay attention to in these races. No presidential candidates have really spent any time or resources with these candidates. But we did find amusing that one candidate for Keene's City Council was promising parts of her salary to voters if she got elected. The state's Attorney General wasn't as amused as said it was the same as offering a bribe for votes.
That said, Rudy Giuliani was in the state yesterday campaigning for himself and at one stop he did it alongside Manchester Mayor Frank Giunta at a downtown pizza joint.
Giuliani defended his record as mayor to the press. Fred Thompson was also in the state where he made stops in Bedford, Nashua and Rochester.
No presidential candidates are in the state today, but Judith Giuliani and Elizabeth Kucinich are both scheduled to speak about breast cancer at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
