Biden and the truth, again
CONCORD, N.H. -- What is it with Joe Biden and his mouth?
Biden calls it his bluntness, but whatever you call it he has certainly gotten himself in trouble with the words he uses.
And today he may have offered another stretch of the truth.
On this morning's New Hampshire Public Radio, Biden claimed he was in "third or fourth in all the polls in the early states."
Of course, in every New Hampshire poll since the spring John Edwards and Bill Richardson have been third and fourth and the same is true in Iowa. The only place where he has been consistently in fourth place in South Carolina.
(UPDATE: The Biden campaign responded to this post with an email showing a few polls that were not on the Real Clear Politics poll page, some of which have been panned for bad results. These polls showed him in fourth place in Iowa and one in New Hampshire, though none in third.)
Maybe it's just wishful thinking on his part.
