PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — The recount in a too-close-to-call Rhode Island House of Representatives race is now scheduled for Monday.

Democratic state Rep. William San Bento of Pawtucket was three votes ahead of primary challenger Carlos Tobon after Tuesday’s statewide primary election. Three provisional ballots have yet to be counted.

The recount of all the votes in the District 58 race had originally been set for Thursday.

San Bento was first elected to the state House of Representatives in 1992.

Whoever wins the race will face no opposition in the Nov. 6 general election.

Election results are preliminary until certified by the Board of Elections.end of story marker
