Governor Lincoln Chafee is asking state agencies to speed their review of regulations as they determine which ones hurt small businesses. A law in effect this year requires agencies to review the regulations over a four-year period. Chafee said Tuesday that he was ordering Cabinet members and agency heads to get the review done in about 18 months. He said that under the accelerated plan, 25 percent of the review must be completed by Dec. 31.
