A political ally of Charles Moreau, the disgraced former mayor of Central Falls, has appeared in court on a federal corruption charge. Michael Bouthillette is accused of giving gifts to the onetime mayor in exchange for a lucrative contract to board up houses in the city. He previously agreed to plead guilty, as did Moreau. Jim Martin, a spokesman for US Attorney Peter Neronha, said Bouthillette entered a not-guilty plea before a magistrate judge Friday. He is expected to plead guilty before a US District Court judge at a later date.
