Authorities said three women found dead inside an overturned car that went off a Newport Harbor pier in Rhode Island drowned. A state Department of Health spokeswoman said Tuesday that autopsies showed that Louise Owen of Wales in the United Kingdom and Femmetje Staring of the Netherlands drowned. Health officials said previously that Jennifer Way of North Kingstown drowned. The car was discovered on its roof in about 4 feet of water Friday morning. Police have ruled out foul play and speculate that the women, who were all 39 years old, missed a turn in heavy fog. end of story marker
