PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — The Pawtucket toymaker Hasbro Inc. is donating 25,000 toys and games to children and families in need in Rhode Island during the holiday season.
Employee volunteers with the company are scheduled to sort through the items on Monday at a warehouse in Woonsocket. The effort is part of the company’s annual ‘‘Gift of Play’’ donation program.
The company says the children who will receive the toys are involved with or get assistance from the state Department of Human Services or the state Department of Children, Youth and Families.
Last year, Hasbro says it donated more than 400,000 toys and games during the holidays to children worldwide.
