Firefighter has heart attack in N. Kingstown fire
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) — A firefighter apparently suffered a minor heart attack while fighting an early-morning fire that destroyed a home in North Kingstown.
Firefighters from North Kingstown and several surrounding communities responded to a call around 12:45 a.m. Friday for a fire in a single-family home on Potter Road. Capt. Greg Pariseault (PAH'-ruh-so) says the house, which has been vacant, was half in flames.
Pariseault says a firefighter believed to have suffered a minor heart attack while battling the blaze was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
Online town tax records show the owner as AMZ Consulting Inc. Gary Anusavice is listed in business records as the firm’s president. He was arrested in May on charges relating to what authorities call a $20 million Medicaid fraud scheme involving dentists’ offices in Connecticut.
