PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — Police say there’s a lesson to be learned from a home invasion in Pawtucket in which three armed and masked men stole more than $4,000 in cash.
The home invasion occurred Wednesday night after one of the victims had told several people about the money. In fact, the thieves referred to two of the three victims by name.
Police said Thursday they have some leads but have not made any arrests.
Police say 44-year-old Paul Bernacki told several people he had a check for $4,100 he was about to cash. Three masked men, one with a gun, broke into the home just hours later, where Bernacki and two friends were drinking beer, pointed a gun at a woman’s head, and demanded the money.
