PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Providence hotel that was built inside the shell of a never-completed Masonic Temple has been sold to a Rhode Island firm.
The Providence Journal reports on Friday (http://bit.ly/U6h4Rn ) that the Procaccianti (prah-kah-SHAN'-tee) Group has purchased the 272-room Renaissance Providence Hotel from Sage Hospitality Services. A spokesman for the Procaccianti Group did not disclose the price.
The hotel sits across from the Statehouse and up the street from the Providence Place mall. It opened in 2007.
The Cranston-based Procaccianti Group recently said it was selling The Westin Providence Hotel in downtown Providence.
