EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — East Providence police say a 21-year-old man who was stabbed outside a house party is expected to survive and a possible suspect is in custody.
Police say the Providence man was stabbed in his abdomen early Sunday morning when a large fight broke out at the party on Bliss Street. Authorities say he’s being treated at Rhode Island Hospital for injuries that don’t appear to be life-threatening.
Officers took a 22-year-old Providence man into custody and say they believe he stabbed the other man, but no charges have been announced.
Police haven’t released the men’s names. They say the man in custody is being detained on previous charges and has a long criminal record.![]()
