WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — Warwick police say they believe a 911 caller who reported the deaths of two people was a local man who killed his wife and himself after hanging up the phone.
The caller told the dispatcher early Monday morning that there were two dead people in a home on Armstrong Avenue. Police responded and found the bodies of 52-year-old William Liebrich and 50-year-old Colleen Liebrich in their bed.
Police say they believe William Liebrich called 911, hung up and killed his wife and himself. Officers also say William Liebrich left a suicide note.
Warwick officials told WJAR-TV that William Liebrich was a retired city firefighter and fire inspector. Relatives said Colleen Liebrich had been fighting a pancreatic disease for 15 years and her condition had worsened over the past few months.
