PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Lawmakers in Rhode Island will soon return to the Statehouse following a week off.
The House and Senate are scheduled to reconvene Tuesday.
It will be a busy week for lawmakers tasked with reviewing the details of Gov. Lincoln Chafee’s $8.2 billion budget proposal. Hearings are scheduled throughout the week on portions of the budget relating to renewable energy, workforce development and the state’s Department of Labor and Training.
Lawmakers began their annual session in January. They’re expected to wrap up their work for the year at the end of the spring.
