SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) — A community health organization is set to begin construction on a new location serving southern Rhode Island.
Thundermist Health Center plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of its new facility in South Kingstown on Monday.
Gov. Lincoln Chafee and Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts are expected to attend.
The new facility is much larger than Thundermist’s existing South County location and will include room for medical and dental care.
The new building is expected to open in early 2015. Thundermist, which also has centers in Warwick and Woonsocket, plans to serve more than 10,000 patients at the new location.
