Democratic state Representative Scott Guthrie of Coventry filed a cyber-harassment complaint with police regarding the page, which appeared to belong to Guthrie but slammed him as a ‘‘slimy, bottom-dwelling parasitic creature.’’ Police determined that the page was created at the State House by Republican state Senator Nicholas Kettle, also of Coventry. Kettle, 23, told the Providence Journal that he wanted to criticize Guthrie on a fire district controversy. Kettle said he will not apologize for Coventry’s ‘‘rough and tumble politics.’’ The website was taken down Wednesday. Police said they have no plan to file charges.
