Books commemorating Patriots, Giants wins readied for pre-sale

BOSTON—Trying to get a jump on the Super Bowl market, an online bookseller has been touting books on wins for the New England Patriots and New York Giants, even before Sunday's championship game.

Amazon.com was offering advance sales of a book written by The Boston Globe sports staff, "19-0: The Historic Championship Season of New England's Unbeatable Patriots," for $14.95.

Also available for presale on Amazon.com was "New York Giants; 2008 Super Bowl Champions," by Sports Publishing Inc., for $10.17.

New England is only 18-0 going into the showdown with the Giants, who are 12-point underdogs.

The books were no longer listed late Tuesday.

The Globe issued a statement Tuesday saying it was "simply preparing for the possibility of a Patriots Super Bowl victory," much like the city of Boston is planning for a possible victory parade.
