Police identify victim in fatal Central Falls shooting
CENTRAL FALLS, R.I.—Central Falls police have identified the second of two teenagers killed this weekend.
Authorities say 16-year-old Edelmiron Roman was found shot dead near a street corner Sunday. No arrests have been reported.
His killing followed the deadly shooting Saturday of a 19-year-old man. Another 19-year-old is charged in that killing.
Superintendent of Schools Frances Gallo says security has been increased at most of the city's schools. Students were dismissed about 30 minutes early from the town's high school Monday after rumors circulated that a retaliation shooting might occur after school.
Gallo says classes will be held as scheduled Tuesday. She says students' safety will be the top priority.![]()
