PROVIDENCE, R.I.—A teenager charged with second-degree murder in the boating death of his friend will be held for two more months for violating conditions of his bail.

Ryan Greenberg was ordered held for 60 days by a Providence Superior Court judge Friday. He then will have another bail hearing.

Greenberg is accused in the July 17 death of Patrick Murphy on the Barrington River. Authorities say the accident was alcohol-related.

Greenberg has pleaded not guilty and was initially free on bail. But he was jailed last month after Barrington police accused him of violating the conditions of his bail by attending a party where there allegedly was underaged drinking.

Prosecutors says Greenberg failed to submit to a sobriety test.
