MIDDLETOWN, R.I.—Middletown police are getting a $282,000 federal grant to help them upgrade their crime-fighting equipment and technology.

Kennedy said the money was secured through his work on the Commerce Justice Science Subcommittee and will be used for the purchase of new state-of-the-art equipment.
