New trail for paddlers to be inaugurated

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—A new trail for kayakers and canoers is being inaugurated.

A group of paddlers is gathering Saturday morning to launch the new Roger Williams Paddle Trail in Providence.

The trail includes segments of five different rivers, including the Seekonk, Moshassuck and Providence rivers.

The paddlers will start in East Providence at 10 a.m. and end three hours later at the Roger Williams National Memorial in Providence.

The group's being led by the Rhode Island Blueways Alliance.
